sure, my PC runs smooth too.. but i know how to drive the damn thing. I know how to maintain it.Macs work for ppl with ZERO computer experience.I don't know about DX10 or not on a mac as I only have a MacBook and it has shitty gfx card.I got a MacBook because i needed a laptop. I have since decided to convert my desktop over to a mac once the new MacBook Pro comes out (desktop/laptop/all-in-one).The part you are missing is that the silky smooth is the user experience on a mac. Everything is tied together really nice and very easy to use. Sure it takes some getting used to to make the switch. Some things are qwerky, my only really solid complaint against the mac is that there is no Cut/Paste in the Finder. Other than that it just makes computing more fun and enjoyable. There are subtle perfections, for example:Here I am on reddit, typing away on the comment box. I can actually resize the comment box from it's standard 3" x 2" size and make it as big as I want. It also has spellcheck and grammar check built into every textbox in the whole system. Yes, that's right, spellcheck/grammar check is system wide! The programs that come with mac are excellent, not half-baked demo crap. If you spring for $80 extra you can get iWork which is an amazing page layout and spreadsheet and presentation software package. Truly stunning! Quicklook is a feature where you can just highlight any file and tap the spacebar and you can see the contents of the file without launching the associated program. It makes it great for skimming documents, or music, or photos, Coverflow is great when dealing with photos or videos. Everything just ties together very nice. If i copy a file and then paste it into a text document it pastes the path (as you would expect), but if i paste it into a rich document it pastes the file object (as you would expect).Mail is a service available from any application or window where I can literally just click on Services > Mail > Send Selection and whatever I have highlighted (file, text, whatever..) gets put in an outgoing email. These features may seem small and insignificant but when you put them all together it makes your computing experience a breeze and fun to use. I know there is an equivalent way to do all that in Windows, I'm well aware of how to use windows. I've used it since windows 3.1. But when I got the Mac just to see what all the fuss was about and then used it for a while I'd never go back. Sure the hardware costs a little bit more, but the software/hardware combo goes a long way towards making your life with the computer more fun and rewarding.Additionally, my first mac was actually not a MacBook it was an iBook. But it broke 11months into owning it. I called Mac up and they sent me a brand new MacBook ... FREE! They payed for fedex priority shipping both ways and even sent me the box to send the iBook back in. Great customer service! The hardware isn't that much more. Price compare a Mac to a Dell and you'll see that the price is about the same, within $200 diff. Apple does rip you off on RAM though, so you should buy the RAM from newegg and install it yourself. :( When price comparing with dell, be sure to include in the dell spec Vista Ultimate (Because OSX is the whole package, not a slim down Home version) also include a video camera, a sound system, same cpu, same type of screen (LCD), warranty, etc. I tried to justify a PC purchase. But $200 just wasn't worth the headache that PCs bring.Games on PC are slick though. But you can just use bootcamp for that.

Have you ever unboxed a Mac? The cables that ship with them are packed circularly, while PC cables are usually shipped as tightly as possible, resulting in rigid bends and kinks once it's removed from the packaging. The photographer was obviously looking to give a certain impression, but it's not far off from reality.

macs are more than the specs... i know windows ppl have a hard time understand it's not about the hardware, it's about the software AND the hardware together and how nice everything just works..no fuss, no problems, no headaches.... macs are just silky smooth.
